If you aren't one who cycles much a trip down the Canal is the perfect start. This scenic route is only 3.6km linking Portobello to Spencer Dock and Grand Canal. You will cycle pass Leeson Street Bridge where you can stop for a well-deserved bite to eat.
Renting a bike is simple, you can purchase a 3 day ticket from Dublin Bike stations that feature a credit card terminal for only €5 which will give you unlimited access to Dublin Bikes for 3 days. A full list of these, and a map, is provided on the Dublin Bikes website. The nearest bike rack to Herbert Park Hotel & Park Residence is Merrion Square, which is only a 15-minute stroll away.
The great thing about Dublin is some of the best things to see and do will cost you absolutely nothing, just a fun day out for all the family. First up is the National Museum of Ireland.
